E4A Enterprise Education

E4A is a small flexible organisation focussing on developing content and systems that will really make a difference to the way enterprise and employability training is delivered to all age ranges from year 6 to retirement. E4A has delivered a wide variety of challenge days to over 20,000 students from year 6 to year 12. In addition, one of the directors works as a self-employed business advisor and has worked with over 250 companies with senior managers of all ages (from 18 to 65).

E4A has a range of A5 pocket sized business basics books which are ideal for university students (we sell them in bulk with a view to the schools distributing them at no cost to the students or using them as a class room resource.) Enterprise Departments in Universities could do the same or make them available to students to buy.

As E4A has delivered a wide range of challenge days (see http://www.e4a.org.uk/challenge-days ) we are constantly looking at ways to further develop the impact and retention of our days.

E4A has developed an interactive, group learning web based system called ClassBubbles (http://www.e4a.org.uk/interactive-learning-environment ) and have converted 2 of the days (Create your own business & Preparing for work) into the ClassBubbles system. The key benefit for a University Enterprise Department is that the ClassBubbles system can be self-delivered. The key benefit to the students is that it promotes active learning and therefore increased retention rates and so makes the learning more productive. E4A are currently working on incorporating our finance day for sixth form, colleges and universities into ClassBubbles as students are finding it increasingly harder to stretch their finances and the finance day helps them understand how to manage their finances.

As ClassBubbles can be self-delivered, E4A offers a training day that costs £950 plus VAT whereby 2 people from E4A will deliver a session to a cohort of students whilst taking 2/3 members of your staff through the process so that you can simply rent the system from E4A thereafter. The system rents at £250 plus VAT per day thereafter or substantial discounts are available if you license the system on an annual basis. ClassBubbles can be used to deliver any material – think of it as an interactive PowerPoint. However, what it forces the trainer to do is to make the delivery interactive by having a task for each pane of information and then the participants “tweet” back their responses so generating peer to peer learning at the same time.

As E4A is keen to work with the Universities the standard price of the training day has been reduced to half price of £425 plus VAT until 31^st Dec 2011.

As we own the systems and the content we would be happy to adapt what we have to suit your needs as the ClassBubbles part of the challenge days is designed to be delivered in half a day with the second half of the day for the learners/participants preparing and delivering presentations on what they have learnt. We are also happy to incorporate 3rd party material into the system or train you so that you can do it yourself.
